Julie Boyce

Artist Statement

Julie’s artwork reflects her passion for the Australian bush and country living. Her interest in art commenced at an early age and she first started drawing at the age of seven in the mulga dust.

Her images portray stories passed down from her mother, experiences and discoveries in the Australian bush and country living. Julie prefers to work in watercolour and acrylics, brings her brightly coloured compositions of the bush to life on different surfaces in a naïve style.

Biography

Julie was born and bred in Charleville South West Queensland and raised on a 27,500-acre property. Julie is no stranger to all aspects of farm life, starting as a youngster doing all sorts of station and farm work, which led to her adult life on the dairy farm milking cows and delivering fresh milk. Julie has raised pigs, sheep and beef cattle and specialised in horse breeding for a period of time.
